Description
1960s Turkish Oushak rug handwoven of wool with two medallions on an abrashed red field. The Anatolian plateau is where the weaving of oriental carpets originated. Rich in tradition and pride, each of the villages of the area produced a certain design and colors that the neighbors rarely copied. These antiques were largely illustrated in historical European painting. Their bold geometrical designs and soft colors made them favorites of interior designers.
